Lying on the slope of a hill, Cortona boasts a long history that dates back to the time when it became an important Etruscan lucumonia. There are several routes to discover this little Tuscan gem; starting from the historic center you discover the heart of Cortona, the Poggio walking through alleys, squares and centuries-old walls, as through a historic labyrinth, to get to the Basilica of Santa Margherita, protector of the city, a path that will give you the opportunity to return admire the panoramic Via Crucis with the mosaics of the master of Futurism, Gino Severini from Cortona.
