Cortona
There are many ways to discover this little Tuscan gem; starting from the historic center, you can explore the heart of Cortona, the Poggio, strolling through alleys, squares, and ancient walls, as if through a historic labyrinth, to reach the Basilica of Santa Margherita, protector of the City. On the way back, this route will give you the chance to admire the panoramic Via Crucis with mosaics by the master of Futurism, Cortona's own Gino Severini. And don't miss the surroundings of Cortona with the Monastery of Celle, founded by St. Francis of Assisi in 1211, a place of spirituality and immense emotion.
The position
Locanda del Molino is located in Montanare, a few kilometers from Etruscan Cortona, at the highest part of the Val d'Esse valley that leads to verdant Umbria and Lake Trasimeno.
